REHABILITATION GROOMING PROGRAMME

Has your dog been refused by other groomers due to difficult or reactive behaviour?
Has your dog been adversely affected by a bad experience with a previous groomer?

Is your dog impossible to groom at home?

Does your dog have to be sedated by the vet before being groomed?

Some dogs find the grooming process extremely stressful. This may be due to a bad experience with a previous groomer or it may be that they have developed a negative association with particular elements of the grooming process such as being bathed or brushed, or the sound of a hairdryer.
Grooming is necessary for your dog's health and wellbeing and your dog needs to learn to accept the process, so it is important to address any problems as soon as possible .
We will never force grooming on a dog that finds the experience uncomfortable or stressful but can help them to overcome their anxiety or fears in a gentle way.
If your dog struggles to cope with being groomed whether through anxiety, fear or physical infirmity we will work with you to find the best way forward for your dog. We can develop an individual programme of support, de-sensitisation and rehabilitation to reduce stress and build trust, working towards being able to achieve the best possible groom given the circumstances. The rehabilitation grooming programme requires commitment, time, patience and perseverence but the end results will be worth it.
